January 19, 2022

Following a successful initial visit that took place in December, the formal signing of a cooperation protocol between the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) and the University of Hertfordshire in Egypt hosted by Global Academic Foundation (UH-GAF) occurred on the 13th of January, in the presence of the Chairman of AOI (Lieutenant-General Moneim Al-Terras) and the President of UH-GAF (Professor Vincent Emery).  Signing the MoU was executed by UH-GAF Provost Professor Alaa Ata and the Senior Representative from the AOI.

The MOU facilitates the two organizations working closely to empower the youth of Egypt, as they aim to collaborate in teaching, training and developing scientific research. Both parties stressed the importance of the relationship between the implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to achieve integration between universities, scientific research activities and national industrial institutions and contribute to Vision 2030.

Lieutenant-General Moneim Al-Terras noted the importance of modern scientific disciplines at the University of Hertfordshire in the fields of artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, new and renewable energy. He also noted that these disciplines “represent future sciences for all industries and will set the standards for industry 4.0”

Professor Vincent Emery stated how he was “incredibly impressed by the facilities and expertise available at the AOI and their willingness to collaborate in a range of areas which will help educate the youth of Egypt including UH-GAF students and provide UH-GAF graduates with excellent opportunities to pursue careers at the AOI”. He added that he was extremely pleased by the speed at which the two organizations had reached this agreement, which reflected the dynamic nature of both parties.

Professor Alaa Ata noted his confidence in the success of the cooperation due to the continuous support provided by the AOI. He also acknowledged the excellent training and scientific research support provided through the AOI to transform research outputs into applied models and products.

To date, students from UH-GAF have experienced training sessions at the AOI in a variety of specialist areas.  President Vincent concluded, “This relationship is exactly the type of interaction that produces great impact for our students, our academics, our university and for the overall future of Egypt. UH-GAF is proud to be contributing to achieving the delivery of Egypt’s Vision 2030.”
