The University of Hertfordshire (UH) has been an innovative force in education for 70 years. UH is a leading public university in Hertfordshire County in the UK, just 25 minutes north of London (by train).

The university has a diverse population of c.32,000 students (including almost 11,000 international students from all around the world), and it offers over 550 programmes across eight schools of study as well as extensive employment prospects and industrial placements.

UH is currently operating in 140 countries. UH in the UK was awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (2018) and ranked 32nd in the UK for research impact (Research Excellence Framework, 2022). Many of UH’s programmes are recognised by professional bodies.

Why UH-GAF?

The University of Hertfordshire, hosted by Global Academic Foundation, was founded in 2019 and is the first fully-fledged branch campus of a British university in Egypt that encompasses the same values, disciplines, and academic standards of UH academic schools in the UK by bringing globally accredited undergraduate degrees from the UK to Egypt. Our premiere 50-acre campus is located in the New Administrative Capital, near the Golden Square, one of the liveliest and most vibrant areas in the Fifth Settlement.

Our university is accessible through many routes and provides transportation to various locations across greater Cairo. Our campus is 25 minutes away from the Fifth Settlement, Madinaty, and El Shorouk, with easy access back and forth. UH in Egypt is hosted by Global Academic Foundation (GAF), which is committed to the highest quality of education and operates under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Admissions

What is the international foundation programme?

During the first year, students study a range of specialist modules, preparing them for their university degree journey and enrol in academic English (where they are placed according to their IELTS/TOEFL/PTE scores).

In order to progress to their degree of choice, students must meet the progression requirements for each programme. Upon earning their foundation certificate, they automatically move to Level 4.

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is the entry point for all first-year students at the University of Hertfordshire in Egypt.
